Couldn't Help Myself

ARXX are a Queer Alt-Rock Gal Pal Duo from Brighton, UK. Making music together since 2017, Hanni and Clara have continuously played with the expectation of what they ‘should’ be as women and as artists.  ARXX are now exploding into 2022 with a summer banger; "Couldn't Help Myself". 

“Couldn't Help Myself” is a joyful, sassy summer bop that'll satisfy everyone's pop cravings.  The track further expands the expectations of what the Brighton duo are capable of.  Hanni and Clara's writing has transcended genre, moving from punk to alt-rock, with this track seamlessly celebrating ARXX's pop edge.  The song's bold “good vibes only” brightness is playfully juxtaposed by its cutting lyrical intent. ​

ARXX team up with Black Honey's Chris Ostler and Tommy Taylor (co-producers) and Katie Tavini (mastering) to create a fresh new sound to add to their repertoire. 

Of the track Hanni explains “‘Couldn't Help Myself’ is a brutally candid reflection of a relationship gone wrong.  The exclamation of “It's not me, it's you” epitomizes the joyful fuck you spirit of the song.  This song is for those times when break ups are a good thing, forgiving yourself and getting rid of toxic relationships, and for unashamedly just having fun."

For this release, ARXX will be supporting the UK-based organization Gendered Intelligence which “exists to increase understandings of gender diversity and improve trans people’s quality of life.”
